Ariadne (of the Sea) Cushion
Ariadne (of the Sea) Cushion
A medium or large double-sided hand-made cushion, hand-woven on a traditional dobby loom. Made with pure new undyed British wool in natural shades of whites and greys with blue coloured detail, in a bold textured diamond pattern.
Ariadne (of the Sea) took its name from the Greek Mythology heroine, who, as per Homer's Odyssey, used a thread to help her lover Theseus escape the Minotaur's Labyrinth. Made with natural undyed pure new British wool in natural shades of white and grey with hand-crocheted Aegean-blue edges, in a textured weaving-lace diamond pattern, which combine the Cycladic minimalism with the purity of the British landscape.
In every step of the production the ‘Zero Waste Design’ principle has been followed, aiming to decrease to the minimum yarn waste and unnecessary cuts, carbon footprints, the use of machinery, water and electric energy. The environmental impact is being considered at all the stages of the design, the making process, and also at the packaging of this item.
