Buy Well, Buy Less

When we say ‘buy well’ we are encouraging people (whenever possible) to buy quality for which we will invariably pay more. That said, the quality should increase the useful life-expectancy of a piece of furniture, and minimise our future consumption and resulting impact on the environment.

We take the view that buying cheap inferior quality furnishings (that can unethically exploit cheap labour) is a false economy because life-expectancy is likely to reduce and lead to further spending on buying replacements, and therefore increasing our consumption. As the saying goes, ‘Buy cheap, buy twice’.

Of course we recognise that not everyone can afford to buy well. So with the environment front of mind, we simply encourage investing in timeless, high-quality, skilfully handcrafted and sustainably-sourced forever furnishings that are made to last longer, and may be re-purposed when their use is finally retired.
